Entrepreneur · Former administrative principal of the “Pninei Chein” high school

Rabbi Aharon Ungar

Rabbi Aharon Ungar is an entrepreneur. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Yeshiva University and an MBA in marketing from New York University’s Stern School of Business, and received rabbinic ordination (Yoreh Yoreh) through Pirchei Shoshanim.

In 1994 he founded Diabetic.com, a South Florida online and mail-order company and licensed Medicare provider of diabetic supplies, and served as its president until 2003. The company grew to offer hundreds of products and services for people with diabetes and operated across the United States. In 2004 he co-founded the “Keren Lev Yisrael” gemach in Ramat Beit Shemesh Alef, which provided interest-free loans to residents of the neighborhood, and in 2010 and 2011 he was Project Inspire’s volunteer coordinator for South Florida, training and motivating observant Jews to reach out to other Jews. He is the author of two books on kiruv: Kiruv and the Power of One, and Putting Out the Fire: Your Unique Role in Bringing Jews Closer to Torah.

From 2012 to 2014 he was chairman of Slikk.com, a Ramat Beit Shemesh-based platform that used search engines to collect and index information. From 2013 to 2018 he served as administrative principal of the “Pninei Chein” high school in Ramat Beit Shemesh. He took up the post when the school faced closure. Working with education professionals and the parents’ advisory board, he kept it open, and enrollment rose from 100 to 150.

In 2017 he founded Dietgirl, a Miami company that ran an online weight-management and fitness program, and served as its president until 2019. In 2020 he founded Galilee Organics, which manufactured skin-care products in Israel for the American market, and served as its president until the company closed in 2021 because of the Covid pandemic.
