Moti Leitner

Moti Leitner (33), is a resident of Beit Shemesh, married and a father of four, and is the chairman of Hatzibur HaCharedi. He is also the Deputy Mayor of Beit Shemesh, and chairman of the “Derech” faction on the city council.

Growing up in Rachmastrivka chassidish community in Jerusalem, he was educated in cheder and in yeshivos. As an adult he entered the high-tech world and built a career in software and DevOps. Alongside his professional work, he became active in communal life and in advancing solutions for the changing needs of Charedi families.

From personal familiarity with the challenges of Charedi education, he was a partner in founding chassidic state-Charedi institutions in Beit Shemesh, combining chassidic identity and way of life with pedagogic excellence and foundational studies. Over the years he became one of the leading voices for quality education, professional training, and a dignified livelihood within the Charedi community.

Ahead of the 2024 municipal elections, he founded and led the “Derech” faction in Beit Shemesh. The faction ran independently and won two seats on the city council. After the elections he was appointed Deputy Mayor, with responsibility for a range of municipal areas, including security and emergency preparedness, young communities, and additional communal domains.

In 2026 he led the founding of Hatzibur HaCharedi, which unites communities and groups within the Charedi public seeking more meaningful representation in the political system. The movement seeks to place at the center of the public agenda the burning challenges of the community: guarding and strengthening the Torah world, the future of yeshiva students, reducing dropout, quality education, a dignified livelihood, housing, and real representation of the communities on the ground.
